Forever Green – Our restaurant reopens at last!
After what feels like an eternity we are now ready to re-open our restaurant on Monday 6th July. Many of you will have already popped in for a takeaway but from Monday you will be able to book a table and enjoy something delicious from our new menu. Don’t worry some of the old favourites are still on there!
Of course this all sounds very easy but with the virus still a serious threat we have worked hard to ensure the safety of both our staff and customers. We want this to be an enjoyable experience and hope you will work with us during these unusual times.
So the first thing you’ll probably want to know is that all our staff have been fully briefed and trained with regards to wearing protective clothing, cleaning and table service. We will be checking temperatures each day when they arrive for duty and asking them to sign a daily health assessment questionnaire to confirm that they are fit to work, . These are very different working conditions to what they are used to and they are also constantly changing in response to government guidance. Please feel free to ask any questions but also remember that despite the masks, gloves and screen at the till this is the same friendly team and they’re ready to welcome you back. You will also see that we have gone for masks with a theme to make them less clinical – so Judy is taking on woodland animals, Maisie is a pirate and Kelly has gone for a floral theme!
You’ll see signage both inside and out giving guidance around queuing, takeaway orders, table service and distancing. When you arrive please wait in our roped off queuing area outside and a member of the team will greet you and either take you to your pre booked table, show you to wait in The Glades for takeaway pre orders or ask you to queue for a moment while a table comes available. Dont forget to sanitize your hands as you arrive at our sanitizing station which is just by the door and use the one way entry and exit points. Dont worry though we will take care of all the details and make sure you are looked after.
If you’re unsure about anything please ask. At all times please be aware of other customers and safe distance rules.
Which brings us to the next point, we’ve had to change the layout slightly to make sure we comply with government guidelines. Don’t worry it’s not a clinical environment, it’s still the same fabulous space but with a few less tables, so we would highly recommend that you pre-book a table to avoid disappointment (especially for groups over 5). There are also tables outside so please specify if you have a preference about where you are seated. If your party does include young children please make sure they stay seated with you at all times.
We are now operating a table service only. On arrival you will be shown quickly to your table and a member of staff will take your order and then bring everything that you need to the table (including sanitized menus, cutlery, wine glasses and condiment bottles) At the end of your meal the bill will be brought to you, along with the card machine as preferred payment. We will still take cash payment where necessary but there are hand sanitizers on hand if you do have to handle cash.
We are also required to operate the Governments track and trace system so will need to take your contact details when booking or if you dont manage to book then once you are at your table. This basic information will be destroyed after the required time.
During your meal you may notice staff cleaning down tables, door handles, chairs etc. This is a key part of the procedure to ensure we all stay safe and they will try and do this with as little disruption as possible. Regular cleans will also be done on the toilets.
And finally if any customers planning to visit are feeling unwell or showing symptoms of Covid-19, please protect yourself, your family, our NHS and our team by staying at home.
Although much has changed since you last visited and things will continue to be different for a while, we are very much looking forward to seeing you all again.
